The aim of every one of our trips, adventures, and experiences is to create memories and stimulate the senses – a sight, a smell, a touch, a sound, a taste – and beyond that, an emotion. We appreciate the vast array of geographic, cultural, and historical landscapes and attractions in this world. and want to educate ourselves about the places we visit and the people who live there.
This page showcases a limited selection of highlights of some of our favourite past adventures and experiences. The highlighted photos (and more) are displayed on our Mapgirl Photography site, and are available as prints or digital downloads.
Canadian National Parks
Our current homeland, Canada, has 37 national parks and 11 national park reserves which protect and present outstanding representative examples of natural landscapes and natural phenomena. Our travels so far have taken us to almost half of these wild places across this vast country and we plan on visiting more as time and location allows. Here are some of our favourite places where we have made frequent trips during different seasons for a variety of experiences.
- Banff National Park, Alberta
- Jasper National Park, Alberta
- Prince Albert National Park, Saskatchewan

Scotland
Keith’s birth country of Scotland is known for its stunning landscapes, rich history, and unique culture. Ranging from the quaint and serene islands with their quiet beaches and colourful harbour towns, the bustling modern cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, gentle rolling lowland hills, rugged and mountainous valleys of the highlands, grand (and not so grand) castles, picturesque villages and historical sites at every turn, Scotland hosts something for every traveller.

Cities
Cities are typically economic hubs, centres of culture and entertainment, areas of significant social interaction, and often feature significant tourist sights and attractions. Their ability to offer a unique, engaging, and memorable experience from factors like cultural relevance, historical significance, natural or architectural beauty, and unique experiences all contribute to the overall appeal of a destination. Each of the places below provided us with something beyond the ordinary, and created lifelong memories.
